Northwest Stories is a website created by Northwest Missouri State University students for our past, present, and future students. Our team of only six Northwest undergraduate students as part of our Digital Humanities class created the website and companion app in only eight weeks. We wanted to connect students with the history of Northwest while also building on that legacy. We did this through writing histories of buildings, landmarks, and other historical moments on the Northwest campus in Maryville.

With the “share your story” tab, students or visitors will be able to upload a picture or story of their time on campus to help build a digital history of NWMSU.

Northwest Stories is our way of letting the history of Northwest be readily available for everyone. We work to collect histories and transform them into media formats which are far more accessible to the public. Through these stories not only, past, present, and future students are brought together with nostalgia but the history of Northwest is shared with the world.
