Description
Martindale Hall is currently the home to the School of Health Science and Wellness at Northwest. Martindale Hall opened in 1926 and was renovated in 1973-1975. Martindale is named after Nell Martindale Kuchs. Kuchs’ was a faculty member and early leader in women’s athletics.

Martindale Gymnasium was originally the home of Northwest basketball. In 1959, Lamkin gymnasium replaced Martindale Gymnasium becoming the Bearcat Arena.

There are gyms and labs students use for educational and recreational purposes. The School of Health Science and Wellness offers the opportunity to study in a number of fields including; health and wellness, recreation, physical education, foods and nutrition, psychology, human services, school counseling, sport and exercise psychology, and other medicine-related fields. This building also houses the dance studio for the Bearcat Steppers.
